U4GM Arc Raiders Farming Guide: Hullcracker Tips
Against a Queen that keeps the squad moving through layered fire and collapsing cover, the Hullcracker's real weakness is not raw damage but lost firing time. Every forced reposition cuts DPS uptime, and every long exposure risks turning a heavy shot into an expensive miss. That is why planning begins before deployment, not after the first target appears; carrying ARC Raiders BluePrints alongside a purpose-built loadout makes more sense when the raid is aimed at armored ARC rather than opportunistic Raider fights. The Hullcracker earns its slot when the team expects a high-value target, has room to protect the shooter, and can create short, repeatable burst windows.
Save Heavy Shots for Targets That Cannot Easily Reset
The weapon looks tempting whenever a large silhouette enters view, but target selection matters more than aggression. A distant Raider crossing open ground is rarely a worthwhile reason to reveal a Hullcracker position, especially if that player can break line of sight, rotate behind terrain, or pull a third party into the encounter. Heavy ammunition has an opportunity cost: every round used in a low-value exchange is one less answer for a Queen, Matriarch, or another armored threat that may appear later. Wait for enemies with predictable movement, exposed weak points, or a limited escape path. If an ARC is locked into an attack pattern, recovering from crowd control, or focused on a teammate, that is the moment to commit.
Build Around Uptime, Not One Huge Number
The most useful Hullcracker metric is practical uptime. A player who lands fewer shots from a safe angle often contributes more than one who chases perfect damage while repeatedly reloading, healing, and retreating. Choose cover with at least two exits, then work a peek-fire-reposition rhythm that keeps the weapon ready without creating a long animation lock in the open. Hard cover is preferable to thin visual concealment because high-threat ARC pressure can erase a position before the shooter finishes a follow-up shot. This also changes how the secondary weapon should be chosen. Bring something responsive enough to handle close-range Raiders or sudden flanking pressure, so the Hullcracker remains reserved for its intended job instead of being forced into an awkward panic duel.
Let the Squad Create the Opening
Hullcracker play becomes more reliable when the squad treats the user as a damage specialist rather than an isolated marksman. One teammate can hold enemy attention, another can watch the approach routes, and the Hullcracker player can stay patient until the target presents a clean angle. The goal is not constant fire; it is synchronized pressure during moments when damage mitigation is least likely to waste ammunition. Against large ARC, call out reloads, movement phases, and weak-point exposure. Against players, resist firing merely because a shot exists. A weapon report can reveal the team's location, invite more opponents, and force the entire group into a fight that offers poor loot value.
That discipline also protects progression during long sessions. If the raid shifts into scattered close-range skirmishes, swap to the flexible weapon and preserve the Hullcracker for the next armored objective. Players looking to refine a specialist loadout may choose to buy ARC Items for faster preparation, but the weapon still depends on restraint, positioning, and coordinated burst windows. In ARC Raiders, the Hullcracker performs best when it arrives with a plan and leaves only after the valuable target is down.
